SYHealth is upgrading our computer systems to provide better care and an improved experience for you. We appreciate your patience as you may notice delays at our call center or during your clinic visits.
SYH Proud is committed to creating a safer space that supports and improves the health and well-being of SYHealth’s Queer*, Trans, and Ally employees by acting as a source of education, increasing visibility, and strengthening community engagement.
When we meet: The second Tuesday of the month from 12 PM to 1 PM
Who can join: Members of the LGBTQ+ community and allies are welcome. You must be a staff member of SYHealth to participate.
Contact us: If you’re interested in joining SYH Proud, would like to coordinate a training opportunity on the LGBTQ+ community for your department, or have any questions please email SYHProud@syhealth.org.
*Queer acts as an umbrella term for people who identify with a range of sexual orientations that are not “straight.” (For example - gay, bisexual, lesbian, pansexual, etc.) We acknowledge that some members of the community may identify more strongly with a specific sexual orientation under this umbrella term than the umbrella term itself, especially because of the history the word has as a slur.
SYH Proud has many long-term goals that aim to make San Ysidro Health a more affirming environment for LGBTQ+ patients and staff members. We also host lunch and learns, participate in San Diego Pride month activities, and get to know each other through SYH Proud social events.
