Originally established along the border in 1969, The organization was founded by seven mothers in search of medical services for their children in 1969.

We are not a free clinic. San Ysidro Health is a Federally Qualified Health Center offering high-quality, affordable healthcare. If you have government-issued medical insurance, such as Medi-Cal, you may qualify for medical care at no cost to you. If you do not have government-issued medical insurance, you can apply for our affordable sliding scale fee discount program or request a self-pay payment plan.
Regardless of your ability to pay, San Ysidro Health will work hard to meet your medical needs.
San Ysidro Health accepts many common types of private medical insurance. To check if we are contracted with your private insurer, please call our Health Insurance Hotline at (619) 600-3000. You can also ask any Certified Eligibility Specialist or Patient Services Representative (located at the registration desk at our clinic locations) to confirm that your health plan is accepted at San Ysidro Health.
